Major storm sweeps through SLO County

Heavy rains and the strongest winds of the season (one reported gust reached 71 mph) pounded our area yesterday causing major power losses, flooding and numerous trees to fall.

We came home to find a half dozen large items blown all around our property but fortunately no damage to our olive trees. We also received another 'atmospheric river' saturation of 1.7" of rain, bringing our home totals to a staggering 25.6". (Small creeks and streams are running that we haven't seen since who knows when - like the good 'o days). With scattered showers in the forecast today and returning rain on Sunday into Wednesday, our numbers are sure to continue toward the 30 mark.

So check out how green we are. A little break today is good for the new begins already visible on the trees.
